Spanish Police invest in toy police cars

June 11th, 2008 by Nick Martin

It appears as though the Spanish police have gone barking mad, after I recently noticed what appears to be a kiddies push car in Malaga Airport (shown below). Oddly enough this wasn’t some kind of joke, and that really is an electric powered, 2-seater, no door police Ka which from what I could see has an average speed of 5mph!

Note, the policeman does appear to be in his late 60’s or 70’s, suggesting that this could be the Guardia Civil’s (Spanish Civil Guard) way of keeping old people in the force. Of course, in previous years, old people tend to retire from the force simply because they are “too old”.

    Hello
These vehicles are only for airport use, are very good for patrol inside the terminals.
About the Guardia Civil (Civil Guard) this is not a civil thing and not are part of the National Police, they are a kind of military police for all the country (National Police is only in big cities).
    Regards
